Airport limo GTA: how this hub and the suburb pages work
Airport limo GTA service on Onroutz.ca means a pre-booked private car from your home, hotel or office in any Greater Toronto Area town to Toronto Pearson or Billy Bishop, and back. Each town below has its own page with local roads, timing and pickup tips. The fare is fixed and shown before you pay.
The Greater Toronto Area is a spread of cities rather than a single place. Pearson Airport is in Mississauga, on the west side. Most of the region's travellers live somewhere between ten minutes and ninety minutes away from it, and the road conditions differ a great deal depending on which side of the city you start from.
That is why this section is organised by town. A page for Oakville talks about the QEW and Trafalgar Road. A page for Markham deals with Highway 404 and the 407. A page for Hamilton covers the long run along the lakeshore. Reading the right one gives you timing and routing advice that a generic airport-limo page cannot.
For the airports themselves, the Toronto Pearson page and the Billy Bishop page explain terminals, pickup points and flight-day tips. The broader Toronto and GTA hub links the rest of our Toronto content.
Choose your town
Each page below is written for one town, or one cluster of nearby towns.
- West of Pearson: Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Burlington and Hamilton.
- Northwest: Brampton and Vaughan.
- North and York Region: Richmond Hill, Markham and Newmarket and Aurora.
- City of Toronto districts: Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke.
- East: Durham Region, including Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering.
If your town is not on the list, ask the booker. We can price any address in southern Ontario, and the closest page will usually have the right roads and timings.
How far is Pearson from each town?
The figures below are rounded planning distances by road to Pearson, not measured quotes, and the time ranges assume normal traffic. The fixed fare in the booker is calculated from your exact address.
| Area | Approx. road distance to Pearson | Typical drive time | What drives the time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Etobicoke | 8 to 15 km | 15 to 30 min | Highway 427, Dixon Road traffic |
| Mississauga | 5 to 25 km | 15 to 40 min | Highway 401, 403, 410 interchanges |
| Brampton | 15 to 30 km | 25 to 50 min | Highway 407, 410 and Airport Road |
| Vaughan | 15 to 30 km | 25 to 50 min | Highway 400, 407 and 427 |
| North York | 20 to 30 km | 25 to 50 min | Highway 401 and 427 |
| Oakville | 25 to 35 km | 30 to 50 min | QEW and Highway 403 |
| Richmond Hill | 35 to 45 km | 40 to 70 min | Highway 404, 407, 401 |
| Markham | 40 to 50 km | 45 to 75 min | Highway 404, 407, 401 |
| Scarborough | 35 to 50 km | 40 to 75 min | Highway 401 across Toronto |
| Milton | 35 to 45 km | 35 to 60 min | Highway 401, 407 |
| Burlington | 45 to 55 km | 45 to 70 min | QEW and Highway 403 |
| Newmarket and Aurora | 55 to 65 km | 55 to 90 min | Highway 404, 400, 407 |
| Hamilton | 65 to 75 km | 60 to 100 min | QEW, Burlington Skyway |
| Durham Region | 65 to 95 km | 60 to 110 min | Highway 401 or 407 across the GTA |
The wide ranges reflect the same truth for every suburb: the GTA has some of the most variable rush hours in Canada. A run that takes 30 minutes at 11 a.m. can take 70 at 5 p.m. For an outbound flight, the booker and your chauffeur plan the pickup time with that margin built in.
The roads that decide your trip
Four routes carry most airport traffic.
- Highway 401. The main east-west artery across the north of the city. It is the standard route from Scarborough, North York and Mississauga, and it is also the most congested.
- Highway 427. Pearson's own link to the 401, the QEW and the Gardiner. Almost every trip ends on it.
- The QEW. The lakeshore route from Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and Niagara toward Toronto.
- Highway 407 ETR. An all-electronic toll highway north of the 401. It usually saves time for trips from Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Brampton and Durham Region. There are no toll booths; charges are billed to the vehicle. We build any toll into the plan, and check 407etr.com or ask your chauffeur if you are curious about how that billing works.
Your chauffeur picks the route on the day using live traffic. The fixed fare does not change when the driver switches highways.
Pearson or Billy Bishop?
Pearson in Mississauga is the main international airport, with Terminals 1 and 3. Billy Bishop is on the downtown waterfront and is served by Porter and Air Canada, according to Niagara Falls Tourism's airport table, which lists its distance from Niagara Falls as 127 km. For suburban travellers, the choice is mostly set by the airline, because the airports serve different routes.
If you are flying from Billy Bishop, the trip is a drive to the downtown core rather than the 427, and the Gardiner Expressway or Lake Shore Boulevard is the main road. The Billy Bishop page covers the details.
Private car, train or taxi from the suburbs
Most suburbs are not on the UP Express line, which runs from Union Station through Bloor and Weston to Pearson. The UP Express is excellent from downtown. Reaching it from a suburb usually means driving to a GO station or taking a GO train to Union first.
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Private car (Onroutz.ca) | Direct, kerb to kerb | Fixed fare via the booker, quoted before you pay | Handled for you | Families, groups, early flights, business travel |
| GO train or bus plus UP Express | 1 h 30 to 2 h 30 from most suburbs | UP Express adult single $12.35 as of 2026, plus GO fare | You carry it | Solo, light bags, daytime flights |
| TTC bus and subway | 1 h to 2 h from city districts | Standard TTC fare, $3.30 with PRESTO as of 2026 (TTC airport page) | You carry it | Budget travel from within Toronto |
| Licensed taxi | Direct | Flat rates to some destinations, metered otherwise | Boot | Short trips from Mississauga or Etobicoke |
| Rideshare | Direct, with wait | Surge-priced | Varies | Flexible, short notice |
| Drive and park | Direct plus parking | Parking charges and fuel | Your own | Long trips where you want a car at home |
The private car makes particular sense from the outer suburbs. From Hamilton, Burlington, Durham Region or Newmarket the public-transit option takes two hours or more and needs several transfers. For a flight before 8 a.m., a car is often the only practical choice.
When to leave for a departing flight
Flights to the United States clear US Customs at Pearson before you board, which adds time compared with other domestic and international departures. Our general rule for the suburbs:
- International flights: plan to be at the terminal three hours before departure.
- US flights: the same, because of US customs processing at Pearson.
- Domestic flights: two hours before departure.
- Add the road margin: 20 to 30 minutes on weekday mornings, and up to an hour for Hamilton and Durham Region at rush hour.
Check your airline's own check-in deadline, since it varies by carrier and season. Tell the booker the time you need to be at the terminal, and we work back from there.
Arrivals and meeting your chauffeur
Flight tracking is on every airport pickup, so a delay does not strand the car. Customs queues are covered by 60 minutes of free waiting after international landings (30 after domestic). Name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available on request. An alias on the board can be used for privacy. Your confirmation names the pickup point for your terminal.
Travelling with children? Ask for an infant, toddler or booster seat when you book.
Beyond the GTA
Some routes start at Pearson but go well outside the GTA. The transfers directory lists them, including the Hamilton airport to Toronto route, the Pearson to Kitchener-Waterloo transfer and the Pearson to Niagara Falls transfer. The Canada hub covers other cities, and the routes hub covers longer intercity drives.
Vehicles, booking and cancellation
Executive Sedan and First Class Sedan carry up to three passengers. A Luxury SUV carries up to six with five or six large bags, and an Executive Sprinter up to 12 with 12 bags. Vehicles are "or similar", with the model confirmed at booking. See the fleet.
Your fixed all-in fare appears in the booker once you enter the exact pickup address, destination and vehicle, and you see it before you pay. Cancellation is free with more than 72 hours' notice. At 72 hours or less it is 10%, at 48 hours or less 50%, and at 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, counted from the scheduled pickup. Companies that book often can set up a corporate account with monthly invoicing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get a limo from Toronto Airport?
Yes. Pearson allows pre-arranged limousines and cars, which meet you at designated pickup points apart from the taxi and rideshare areas. Book ahead, give your flight number, and the car is tracked to your landing time. The booker shows our fixed fare before you pay.
Are airport limousines worth the expense?
They are worth it for groups, families, early flights, heavy luggage and business travel, where a fixed fare and a tracked pickup reduce risk. For one traveller with a small bag and a daytime flight from downtown, the UP Express is cheaper and just as quick.
How do you pay for an airport limousine?
You see the fixed all-in fare in the booker for your exact pickup and drop-off before you pay, and you pay as part of the booking. Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing are available for businesses that book regularly.
What is the nearest airport to Mississauga?
Toronto Pearson, which is in Mississauga itself. For many Mississauga addresses the drive is only 15 to 30 minutes. Hamilton and Billy Bishop are further away and serve different airlines, so Pearson is the usual choice.
How early should I book an airport limo from the GTA?
Book as soon as your flight is confirmed, especially for early-morning departures, holiday weekends and peak summer travel. Early booking carries little risk, because cancellation is free with more than 72 hours' notice.
Do you serve towns that are not listed here?
Yes. The booker prices any address in southern Ontario. The nearest town page gives a good guide to timings and roads, and the 24/7 desk can help with unusual addresses or multiple stops on one booking.
What happens if my flight is delayed or arrives early?
We track the flight, so the pickup follows the real arrival. The first hour after an international landing is free waiting time; after a domestic flight it is half an hour. If you land early, the chauffeur is positioned to meet you on arrival.
