If you are choosing limousine service in Toronto, the options look similar on a search page and very different on the day. Some companies are brokers, some run a few cars, and some only cover the airport. Onroutz.ca is a Toronto-based desk that books, dispatches and supports its own fleet and chauffeurs across the city and the Greater Toronto Area, and this page sets out exactly what that means.

What does limousine service in Toronto include?

A Toronto limousine booking covers a licensed, insured vehicle and chauffeur for a set job: an airport pickup, an hourly hire, a wedding, a night out or a corporate day. You see the fixed fare before you pay, flight tracking is included on airport trips, and a 24/7 desk stays in touch.

Every Toronto and GTA trip is driven by the Onroutz.ca fleet and chauffeurs, dispatched from Toronto. For trips elsewhere in the world, a vetted local partner delivers the ride and the Toronto desk books, confirms, supports and invoices it, so you keep one confirmation and one contact. This page covers the Toronto work; the Canada hub and the other regional hubs show the rest.

The jobs a Toronto limousine does best

Airport pickups and drop-offs

This is the largest category. Our Toronto Pearson page covers the two terminals, the pickup rules and the free waiting window, and the Billy Bishop page explains the island airport's shuttle, tunnel and ferry. Flight tracking is included on every airport pickup, with 60 minutes' free waiting after international landings and 30 after domestic ones, and a name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available on request.

Hourly hire in the city

Hourly hire means the car stays with you: shopping in Yorkville, a run of meetings in the Financial District, a day of sightseeing or a night out with three venues. The chauffeur waits, opens doors and carries bags. Our guide to things to do in Toronto has sample itineraries and drop-off notes.

Weddings and celebrations

Wedding parties need timing more than anything else, because the photographer's schedule and the venue's door times are fixed. We plan the pickups backward from the ceremony and keep a single contact on the day. For group movements, see our wedding transport page and the guest shuttles page. Stretch limousine is available on request, with availability confirmed at booking.

Corporate days, roadshows and conventions

A corporate account carries monthly invoicing, and multi-leg itineraries can sit on one booking, so an executive's airport pickup, three meetings, a dinner and the return flight arrive on a single record. Convention arrivals are covered on the Toronto Convention Centre page, and the corporate events page explains shuttles for larger groups.

Festivals and game days

In September the film festival reshapes the downtown core; our TIFF page explains how a car works there. Other event nights, from concerts to playoff games, change street access around the waterfront, and we plan pickups around them.

Vehicles and who they suit

Each class is "or similar", and your booking confirms the exact model.

  • Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac or similar): seats up to 3, with room for 2 large and 2 cabin bags. A fit for a solo executive or a couple.
  • First Class Sedan (S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar): up to 3 passengers, for formal arrivals and evenings out.
  • Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon Denali, Chevrolet Suburban or similar): up to 6 passengers, 5 to 6 large bags. The usual family choice.
  • Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter): up to 12 passengers and 12 bags, for teams, wedding parties and small tours.

For larger parties there are mini-coaches and coaches seating 20 to 56 on request, and for occasions Maybach, Rolls-Royce, stretch limousine and armoured vehicles, with availability confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking, and water and phone charging are provided in most vehicles. See the full fleet.

Limousine, taxi, rideshare or transit: an honest comparison

The right choice depends on the job. A limousine is not the answer to every Toronto trip.

The figures for the walk-up service are on Pearson's taxi and limousine page, and the train fare on the UP Express fare page. Look them up before you travel, as they change.

Be honest about transit. For one traveller with one bag and a hotel near Union Station, the UP Express is faster than most cars at rush hour. For a downtown hop of 10 minutes, a taxi or a walk can be the answer. A limousine earns its place with three or more people, heavy luggage, children, a late arrival, a formal occasion, a tight schedule or a need for privacy.

Are airport limousines worth the expense?

Often, yes, but not always. They pay off when you are a group and share the car, when the flight lands at midnight, when you have a meeting an hour after landing or when children and cases would turn the train into a trial. They do not pay off for a single traveller with a carry-on and no time pressure. The practical test is the one you already apply to any trip: if the train or the bus works, use it.

How booking and payment work

  1. Choose the job. Airport transfer, hourly hire or event.
  2. Enter the details. Pickup, drop-off, date, time, passengers and bags.
  3. See the fare. The booker shows a fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay.
  4. Pay online. Confirm and pay through the booker. Corporate accounts can use monthly invoicing.
  5. Receive the confirmation. It lists the vehicle class, the meeting point and the 24/7 desk contact.

Add child seats, a name board or a second stop when you book. Hourly hire is arranged the same way: the booker shows the fixed fare for the hours and vehicle you choose.

Cancellation

More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less or no-show: 100%, counted from the scheduled pickup. Peak events occasionally use a different cut-off, which is stated on the confirmation.

What a typical Toronto booking looks like

Consider a visiting executive landing at Pearson on an evening flight from London. The booking names the flight, a Luxury SUV for two people and four bags, and a downtown hotel. The desk tracks the flight, the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, and the car reaches the hotel entrance about 30 to 45 minutes after the bags come off the belt. The next morning, the same account books a three-hour hire for meetings in the Financial District, then a late drop at a dinner in Yorkville, then a return to Pearson two days later. Everything sits on one invoice at month end.

A family trip is different: two adults, two children and a stroller arrive from Calgary. The booking adds two child seats, picks the Luxury SUV and sends the car to a home in Oakville, west of the city. The same logic applies to a wedding party, only with a Sprinter and a timetable.

Licences, insurance and what to ask any operator

Whoever you book, ask the same questions. Is the vehicle licensed for hire? Is it commercially insured? Is the chauffeur licensed? Who do you call on the day? Onroutz.ca vehicles and chauffeurs are licensed and commercially insured, and the desk is open 24/7. At Toronto Pearson, pre-arranged pickups are registered with the airport authority, which also publishes the fees and rules for pre-arranged taxi and limousine drivers. Each terminal has a pre-arranged desk at Door A.

Beware of anyone who approaches you in the arrivals hall. Use a booked car or the official queue.

How much should I tip a limousine driver?

Tipping is discretionary in Canada. For chauffeured service, 15% to 20% is a common convention, more for exceptional help with luggage or a long day, less if service falls short. Your confirmation shows what the fare covers, so you know whether anything is already included.

Discretion and security

Chauffeurs keep what they see to themselves: no photographs, no posts about trips, and NDAs on request. Onroutz.ca is a transport service, not a security company, so there are no armed drivers or bodyguards. If you travel with your own security team, we work alongside it.

Coverage around Toronto

Toronto and the GTA are covered from the desk in Toronto. For pickups from the suburbs to the airport, use the airport limousine hub and its pages for Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Oakville and Hamilton. For a hotel stay in the core, read the downtown hotel transfer guide.

Longer trips run from Toronto too: Toronto to Niagara Falls is about 130 km (80 mi), usually 1 h 30 to 2 h, and the Niagara Falls limousine page covers the other end. For the rest of the region, the Toronto hub lists everything.

Choosing the best limousine in Toronto

Reviews matter, but so do verifiable facts. Look for a stated vehicle class, a clear cancellation policy, a visible fare process, a 24/7 contact and proof of licence and insurance. Be cautious about quotes that change after you book, about phone-only terms and about companies that cannot name the vehicle class. A fixed fare quoted before payment, as the booker provides, removes one of the biggest sources of disputes.

Frequently asked questions

Do you serve both Toronto airports?

Yes. Pickups run at Toronto Pearson and at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, with flight tracking on both. Pre-booking fixes the fare in advance and spares you the walk-up queue, which helps most with luggage, children or a meeting after you land.

How much is it to hire a limousine for 1 hour?

It depends on the vehicle class, the hours and the route. The booker shows the fixed fare for your choices before you pay, with no figure to guess. Hourly hire is best for multi-stop days, where the chauffeur waits at each stop.

How much should I tip a limo driver?

Tipping is discretionary. In Canada, 15% to 20% of the fare is a common convention for chauffeured service. Check your confirmation to see what the fare covers, and tip more for extra help or a long day.

Are airport limousines worth the expense?

When you are three or more, carrying heavy bags, arriving late or on a tight schedule, yes. For one traveller with a carry-on and flexible time, the UP Express is cheaper and often as fast. The choice depends on the group.

How do I pay for a booking?

Online through the booker, once you have seen the fixed fare. Companies can ask for a corporate account with monthly invoicing, which puts every trip on a single invoice.

What is the cheapest way to get to the airport?

Public transit: the UP Express from Union Station or the TTC 900 bus from Kipling Station. They are shared, timetabled and limited on luggage. A private car is shared by the whole group, which can change the per-person comparison.

Do you offer stretch limousines?

Yes, on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Maybach, Rolls-Royce and armoured vehicles are also available on request.

What is your cancellation policy?

More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less or no-show: 100%, counted from the scheduled pickup. Major events and conventions sometimes have their own deadline; when they do, it appears on the confirmation.

Can I book a limousine for a wedding or a night out?

Yes. Tell the booker the date, pickups, stops and passengers. For weddings and celebrations, the desk plans timings backward from the key moment and keeps one contact on the day.
