Vaughan airport limousine to Pearson: the short answer

Vaughan has a geographic advantage that most GTA suburbs do not: Toronto Pearson is only a short run down Highway 427, Highway 400 or the 407. Woodbridge, the closest part of the city, is a drive of about 16 to 22 km. Even Maple and Kleinburg, at the north end, are 28 to 34 km out, a moderate trip rather than a heroic one. That makes Vaughan one of the most practical places to use a private airport car, for travellers flying out and for relatives collecting guests.

A Vaughan airport limousine to Toronto Pearson covers about 16 to 34 km (10 to 21 mi) depending on whether you start in Woodbridge, Concord, Maple or Kleinburg, and takes 20 to 40 minutes off-peak. Onroutz.ca tracks your flight, meets you at arrivals and quotes a fixed fare before you pay.

This page gives the working detail: distances by neighbourhood, the highways and which one to trust, how the car compares with the GO bus and the subway, and what changes for weddings, family arrivals and business trips. For the wider picture, the GTA airport limo hub lists every suburb we serve, and the Toronto overview explains how the service is organised.

How far is Pearson from Vaughan?

Vaughan stretches more than 20 km from south to north, so one number does not fit. These are rounded road distances and typical drive times to Pearson from route-planner estimates.

Starting area in VaughanRoad distance to PearsonOff-peak driveWeekday peak
Woodbridge (Islington Avenue, Highway 7 and 27)about 16–22 km / 10–14 mi15–25 min35–60 min
Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and Concordabout 21–26 km / 13–16 mi20–30 min40–70 min
Vaughan Mills and Canada's Wonderland areaabout 24–29 km / 15–18 mi22–32 min45–75 min

Maple and Thornhill westabout 28–34 km / 17–21 mi28–40 min50–80 min

The journey is short enough that the time of day decides everything. At 5:00 a.m. the route is open. At 8:00 a.m. on a weekday the 400 southbound and the 407 eastbound are two of the busiest roads in the region, and the number in the "weekday peak" column is not pessimism.

The highways: 427, 400, 407 and 401

Four roads serve a trip from Vaughan to the airport, and a chauffeur chooses between them from the live traffic picture.

Highway 427 south

For Woodbridge and the west side of Vaughan, Highway 427 is the direct line to the airport. The Highway 427 extension, which opened in September 2021, now reaches Major Mackenzie Drive, so the road runs the whole depth of western Vaughan and serves Kleinburg and Maple better than it did before. It is the default for most departures.

Highway 400 and the 407 ETR

For Concord, Vaughan Mills and the eastern neighbourhoods, Highway 400 south to the 407 and then 427 south, or straight down the 400 to the 401, are the alternatives. The 407 is a fully electronic toll road with no cash lane, billed by transponder or licence-plate camera. See 407 ETR for how that works. In a booked car, the chauffeur handles the tolling.

Highway 401 west

The 401 through North York is the free option, and it is often the slowest. Used as a fallback when the 427 or 407 has an incident.

Airport transfer options compared for Vaughan

Vaughan has more public-transit choices than most suburbs because it has a subway station and a GO bus stop on the route to Pearson. They are good for the right person.

The GO Transit timetable shows Route 40 serving the Highway 407 Bus Terminal and Pearson Terminal 1 with daily service. The UP Express takes about 28 minutes from Union Station to the airport, but getting to Union from Vaughan on the subway adds a long leg first.

When the bus is the better choice, and when the car wins

If you live near the Highway 407 Bus Terminal, travel alone with a carry-on, and your flight leaves in the middle of the day, the GO bus is a reasonable and low-cost way to Terminal 1. Be honest with yourself about the first and last kilometre, though.

The private car is the better call when:

  • Three or more of you are travelling, because one vehicle replaces several tickets.
  • You have large bags, golf clubs, strollers or a family that has travelled with half of its house.
  • Your flight is early or lands late, when buses are sparse and tired travellers want a door-to-door ride.
  • Children need car seats and a calm hand-off.
  • A guest is flying in for a wedding, and arriving relaxed matters more than arriving cheaply.
  • A business schedule cannot absorb a delay.

Pickups at Pearson for Vaughan

Landing at Pearson and heading to Vaughan is a ten-minute decision for a taxi and a one-line instruction for a booked car. Every airport pickup is tracked against your flight, and we include 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one, counted from landing. On request, the chauffeur meets you inside arrivals with a name board, using an alias name if you prefer privacy.

Pearson has Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and the booker records your airline and flight number so the pickup point is confirmed before you land. Our Toronto Pearson airport page explains the terminals and curbs. Visa-exempt visitors flying to Canada need an electronic travel authorization (eTA), which costs CAN$7 and is applied for on the official site.

Canada's Wonderland, Vaughan Mills and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg also bring visitors who prefer a driver to a rental car. For a day out, an hourly car can wait while you shop or visit, and the Toronto attractions guide lists other stops by drive time.

Neighbouring suburbs

Beyond the airport

A car from Vaughan also works well for longer trips that start from your door rather than from the terminal. Typical examples are Toronto to Niagara Falls and Pearson to Barrie, with the routes hub covering further intercity drives, and the Canada overview showing the cities where we can arrange a car beyond Ontario.

Booking, fares and cancellation

The booker shows the fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay. A pickup in Woodbridge and a pickup in Kleinburg are different trips, and the fare reflects that. Questions about payment and changes are covered in the FAQ.

Cancellation, counted from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. Event bookings can carry their own deadline, always printed on the confirmation.
