How do I get around Las Vegas during CES?
CES 2027 runs January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas. Official hotel shuttles, the Tech Express between the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian Expo, and the monorail cover many trips. Taxi and rideshare lines grow long at day's end, so teams with tight schedules often pre-book a car for airport runs, dinners and multi-stop days.
CES is a week when Las Vegas changes character. Hotels fill, the Strip clogs, and the show spreads across several campuses at once. The official dates for the next edition are January 6 to 9, 2027, with a media preview event, CES Unveiled Las Vegas, on Monday, January 4. Registration and housing are managed by the show organiser; transportation between those hotels and the venues is where most delegations lose time.
Onroutz.ca is a Toronto-based private-transfer desk that books cars, SUVs and Sprinter vans across the United States. This page does not replace the organiser's official guide. It explains where a private vehicle fits alongside the free shuttles, the monorail and the app-based options, and how to build a schedule that holds. For the general format, see our events hub, and for dates and venue lists always rely on the official CES site.
CES 2027 at a glance
The organiser's site gives the dates as Wednesday, January 6 to Saturday, January 9, 2027 in Las Vegas, with CES Unveiled Las Vegas two days earlier. The site announces a Lenovo keynote at the Sphere and a keynote by the co-CEO of Waymo. Its maps page groups the show into three campuses: the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) campus, the Venetian campus (Venetian Expo) and the C Space campus at ARIA.
- LVCC campus: the main convention halls east of the Strip, with a free LVCC Loop moving visitors between West Hall and the Central and South Halls.
- Venetian campus: the Venetian Expo, which the monorail does not serve.
- C Space campus: at ARIA, an evening and daytime programme venue.
Because the show is split across separate campuses, the question is rarely whether you can get from A to B. It is how long it takes at 8:45 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. For the full map, see the CES maps and locations page.
What the official CES transportation guide offers
The organiser's attendee guide lists the options, and it is the right place to check hours and routes before you travel (CES transportation guide). In summary:
- Hotel shuttles: complimentary service from select official CES hotels to the LVCC and Venetian Expo, running from Tuesday, January 5 through Saturday, January 9.
- Tech Express (Route 9): between the LVCC and the Venetian Expo.
- C Space Shuttle (Route 7): to ARIA from the LVCC and the Venetian Expo, Wednesday through Friday.
- LVCC Loop: free trips across the convention campus.
- Las Vegas Monorail (paid): connects the LVCC and Westgate to Strip hotels, but not the Venetian Expo. Hours at the time of writing are 7 a.m. to midnight on Monday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday to Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday to Sunday.
- Vegas Loop (paid): short-fare rides from the LVCC to Encore, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, Sahara and Westgate.
- Rideshare and taxis: available at all show venues, with designated pickup areas, and lines can be long especially at the end of the day.
No public parking is available at the LVCC or the Venetian Expo, and LVCC drop-off and pickup is limited to specific entrances. That is why people with meetings off-campus stop driving themselves.
Mode comparison for a CES day
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage and gear | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Official hotel shuttle | Variable; depends on loading and the route | Complimentary | Light bags only | Individuals staying at a participating hotel |
| Monorail | 10 – 25 min plus walking | Paid fare; check the operator | Small cases | LVCC to Strip hotels, avoiding road traffic |
| Taxi | 15 – 60+ min including the queue | Metered; zone fares for the airport to the Strip | Fine for a few cases | Short trips outside the show crush |
| Rideshare | 15 – 45 min plus pickup walk | Surge-priced during show hours | Varies | Light travellers who can walk to a pickup area |
| Private car or SUV (Onroutz.ca) | Direct, with a designated curb | Fixed fare via booker, quoted before you pay | Sedan 2 large + 2 cabin; SUV 5 – 6 large | Executives, demo kit, late evenings |
| Executive Sprinter (Onroutz.ca) | Direct for up to 12 | Fixed fare via booker | 12 passengers with 12 bags | Whole teams, booth crews |
When the free shuttles or monorail are the better choice: you are one person, your hotel is on a shuttle route, you are travelling during the day, and you do not carry anything awkward. When the private vehicle wins: more than two travellers, equipment cases, a meeting across town, an evening event, a late arrival, or any trip with a hard start time.
From the airport: Harry Reid arrivals during CES
Harry Reid International Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Following the airport's published guidance, pre-arranged limousine or car service drivers meet passengers in baggage claim; private shuttles, SUVs and limousines wait on the west side of baggage claim outside exit doors 7 to 10 at Terminal 1, and on Level Zero at each end of the building at Terminal 3 (airport limousine page). Taxis are outside baggage claim on the east side near doors 1 to 4 at Terminal 1 and near door 52 on Level Zero at Terminal 3, while rideshare pickups use the parking garage, Level 2 at Terminal 1 and the Valet Level at Terminal 3 (taxi and ride share page).
Three arrival-day facts for CES:
- Your driver is waiting inside. With Onroutz.ca, a meet and greet in baggage claim is available on request, with your flight tracked so the driver is there when the plane lands, not before and not after.
- Rideshare pickups are a garage walk. In a crowd that walk adds time, especially with cases.
- The airport's connector tunnels have repaving closures scheduled through December 2026. By the time CES opens that notice should have lapsed, but check the airport's site, and allow extra time.
For the airport to hotel leg specifically, see Las Vegas airport to the Strip and the Las Vegas Strip hotel-transfer page.
The curb is the bottleneck
At a convention of this size the vehicle is only half of the logistics. The other half is where it can stop. The organiser notes that LVCC passenger pickup and drop-off is limited to the S2, C5 and West Hall entrances, with drivers required to stay with their vehicles, and rideshare pickup areas at the LVCC are outside South Hall and the Diamond Lot by West Hall. At the Venetian Expo the designated area is the main porte-cochere on Sands Avenue.
A pre-booked chauffeur has a plan for those curbs. You tell the booker which hall you need and the time; the driver knows to stay with the car, and you walk straight out. That is a small convenience in a quiet week, and a big one at 6 p.m. on the Thursday.
Executives, teams and exhibitors
CES attracts three kinds of travellers who need more than a seat:
- Executives and delegations with back-to-back meetings. A First Class Sedan or a Luxury SUV on an hourly booking lets one chauffeur stay with the group across venues, dinners and the airport run. See executive car service and VIP transportation.
- Booth crews and demo kit. An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 with 12 bags and can double as a staging vehicle. See Sprinter van with driver.
- Roadshow and press teams that visit several offices in a day. See roadshow transportation and trade show transportation.
Onroutz.ca supports corporate accounts with monthly invoicing and multi-leg itineraries on one booking, so a team's whole week can sit under one reservation and one invoice. See also corporate event transportation and our guide to corporate meetings at hotels and resorts.
A sample CES day with a private car
Illustrative timings, built from the shuttle hours above and typical Strip traffic:
- 7:30 a.m. Hotel to the LVCC. Roads are lighter than later in the day.
- 11:30 a.m. LVCC to the Venetian Expo for a meeting, a short ride and a drop at the right door.
- 2:00 p.m. Venetian Expo to a client lunch on the Strip.
- 5:30 p.m. Back to the hotel to change, before the congestion peaks.
- 7:00 p.m. Client dinner or an evening event; your chauffeur waits within the venue's rules.
- 11:00 p.m. Late return to the hotel after the monorail and shuttles wind down for the night.
On the day you fly home, remember that the airport run competes with every other attendee leaving at once. Book a departure car with a margin, and ask your chauffeur about the departure curb.
What the vehicle classes are and how many bags they take
| Vehicle | Capacity | Typical CES use |
|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac or similar) | Up to 3, 2 large + 2 cabin bags | Individual executives |
| First Class Sedan (S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) | Up to 3 | Senior leadership |
| Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon Denali, Chevrolet Suburban or similar) | Up to 6, 5 – 6 large bags | Small teams with equipment |
| Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) | Up to 12, 12 bags | Booth crews, delegations |
Vehicles are "or similar", with the model confirmed at booking. Mini-coaches and coaches from 20 to 56 seats can be arranged on request, and stretch limousines, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach on request with availability confirmed at booking. In Nevada the ride is driven by a vetted, licensed, commercially insured local partner with US-licensed chauffeurs, while the Toronto desk books, confirms, supports and invoices it. The fleet page shows every class.
Booking tips for a trade-show week
- Book early for arrival and departure days. Everyone arrives and leaves in the same two windows.
- Give the hall, not just the hotel. The LVCC has several entrances; the booker notes help your chauffeur stop at the right one.
- Add buffers. The organiser's own advice is that taxi lines get long at the end of the day.
- Book the return on the same reservation. One confirmation covers every leg.
- Tell us about equipment. Bag count and case size decide the vehicle.
Cancellation for CES bookings
Large events can carry a different cancellation deadline, printed on your confirmation, so read it. The standard terms are: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100%, counted from the scheduled pickup. Questions go to the 24/7 desk, and the FAQ covers other policies. The USA hub lists the other American cities Onroutz.ca covers.
Frequently asked questions
When is CES 2027?
The official CES site gives January 6 to 9, 2027 in Las Vegas, with CES Unveiled Las Vegas on Monday, January 4. Dates, venues and registration details are on the organiser's website.
What are the CES shuttles?
The organiser lists complimentary hotel shuttles from select official hotels to the LVCC and Venetian Expo (January 5 to 9), the Tech Express between those two venues, a C Space shuttle to ARIA, and a free LVCC Loop across the convention campus.
Does the monorail go to the Venetian Expo?
No. According to the organiser, the Las Vegas Monorail connects the LVCC and Westgate to Strip hotels but does not serve the Venetian Expo. Use the Tech Express or a car for that leg.
Can I get a car service from Las Vegas airport to CES?
Yes. Book through Onroutz.ca with your flight number and hall or hotel. Your chauffeur tracks the flight and meets you in baggage claim if you ask for a meet and greet.
Where do rideshare and taxis pick up at the LVCC?
The organiser designates rideshare pickup outside South Hall and in the Diamond Lot by West Hall, and at the Venetian Expo's main porte-cochere on Sands Avenue. Taxis are available at all venues, but lines can be long.
Is parking available at CES?
The organiser states no public parking is available at the LVCC or the Venetian Expo. ADA parking is first-come, first-served at official CES hotels. That is why many visitors use shuttles or pre-booked cars.
How should I tip a limo driver in Las Vegas?
In the United States, 15 to 20 percent is customary for chauffeur service. For an hourly booking across a long day, many guests tip at the end. Corporate accounts can often settle gratuity through the invoice.
How much will a car cost for CES?
The booker shows a fixed all-in fare for your exact pickup, drop-off and vehicle before you pay. Fares depend on route, vehicle and date, so check as soon as you know your flight and hotel.
