When is Global Village Dubai open in 2026-27, and how do you get there?
Global Village's Season 31 runs from 14 October 2026 to May 2027, open from 4 pm to midnight Sunday to Wednesday and to 1 am Thursday to Saturday. Go by car, taxi or the 102, 103, 104 and 106 buses from the metro, and avoid arriving at 8 pm on a Friday.
Global Village is a seasonal, open-air fairground of national pavilions, food stalls, rides and shows, and it is one of the busiest places in Dubai from late October to the spring. It is also built around the car. The park has several large car parks, a permanent site and a small bus network, and what separates a good evening from a poor one is nearly always what happens at the gate, in the first and the last hour.
This guide is for visitors, families and hotel guests who want a plain account of the hours, tickets, parking and getting there and back. We use the park's own plan-your-visit page and the press coverage of the Season 31 announcement. Where something is unconfirmed, we say so.
Season 31 at a glance
The park's official site gives the Season 31 dates as 14 October 2026 to May 2027, with no exact closing date. Do not book a May trip on the assumption that the closing date is fixed; check the official site closer to the time.
The hours on the park's plan-your-visit page for Season 31 are:
- Sunday to Wednesday: 4 pm to midnight.
- Thursday to Saturday and public holidays: 4 pm to 1 am.
- Tuesdays: reserved for families, couples and ladies, except on public holidays.
The Friday sits inside the Thursday-to-Saturday block, so the park is open until 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
The park's plan-your-visit page links to map directions for each car park but does not give a road name or exit number, so use the map links when you set your route. By road it is about 25 km from Downtown Dubai, about 30 km from Dubai Marina, about 30 km from Dubai International Airport and about 140 km from Abu Dhabi city, all as calculated on the OpenStreetMap road network, with roughly 25 to 30 minutes of driving without traffic to the Dubai points. Journey times vary hugely with the hour, which we cover below.
Tickets and entry
When we checked, the official Global Village site did not list standard entry prices on its Season 31 pages and said only that tickets would be available later in the year. We have not found the prices on the park's own site, so we do not quote them here. Press reports of the prices exist, but check the live ticket page on the official site, because the details can change during the season.
The park's parking page confirms that VIP parking is free for VIP pack holders; read the ticket page for the current terms of each pack.
A practical point: the gate price is the least of your costs. Food, rides, parking and the walking distances between attractions are what decide how the evening feels. Decide who is paying for what before you leave.
Parking: what the park publishes
The plan-your-visit page lists the car parks:
- VIP parking: free for VIP pack holders, otherwise AED 200 per day.
- Paid parking: AED 120 per day.
- Paid parking 2: AED 75 per day, about 350 metres from the Happiness Gate entrance.
- P1, P3 and P5: free, about 400 to 450 metres from the Gate of the World entrance.
- P7, P8, P9, P10 and P11: free, but only on weekends, public holidays and busy days. They are about 1 km from the Cultural Gate, so you use a free shuttle bus or a rickshaw (from AED 10).
Read that list twice. The free lots near the gates fill first, and the overflow lots, which are open only on busy days, are a kilometre away. On a Friday or Saturday night, the people who arrive at 8 pm are the people who park in P7 to P11 and take the shuttle. That is the weekend queue in one sentence.
The three ways to arrive
Global Village is a destination you reach by road. Public transport is limited, and the evening finish is when it matters.
| Mode | Door-to-door time | Cost note | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Metro, then a Global Village bus | Metro ride plus the bus, which the park puts at about 30 min of travel | Nol fare plus bus fare | None | Budget travellers, early evening |
| Taxi or ride-hailing | Roughly 25 to 30 min from Downtown or Marina without traffic; longer on Fri/Sat | Metered or surge-priced | Not applicable | Couples, short stays |
| Own car or hire car | Roughly 25 to 30 min from Downtown or Marina without traffic, plus parking | Parking charges apply | Boot | Families, comfort |
| Chauffeur-driven car | Roughly 25 to 30 min from Downtown or Marina without traffic | Fixed fare via booker | Sedan 3 passengers; SUV 6; Sprinter 12 | Groups, children, late finish |
The road times are calculated without traffic. Dubai's traffic changes sharply by the hour, and Friday evenings are the hardest.
The bus routes
The park's page lists four routes during the season:
- 102 from CentrePoint Metro Station
- 103 from Union Metro Station, via Al Rebat Street
- 104 from Ghubaiba Bus Station, via Max Fashion Metro Station
- 106 from Mall of Emirates Metro Station, via Al Barsha and Al Quoz
The buses usually run from about 3:15 pm to 11:15 pm each day, with roughly 30 minutes of travel. For stops and timetables, the park gives the RTA number 800 9090. Read the timing carefully: a last bus at about 11:15 pm means that on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, when the park stays open to 1 am, you will not have a bus for the last hour and three-quarters. Plan your exit before you plan your entrance.
For metro hours, check the RTA's timetable pages, since they differ on Fridays and may change for holidays. We did not find a current metro schedule we could confirm for this guide, and we are not going to guess.
The best times to arrive and leave
Arrive early. The park opens at 4 pm. Arriving between 4 and 6 pm gets you a closer parking lot, a calmer entrance and a cooler walk, especially in October and November when the afternoon is still warm. By 8 pm on a Friday the queues are long.
Avoid the Friday and Saturday peak if you can. The park's own parking list shows the problem: its overflow lots open only "on weekends, public holidays and busy days". A Sunday, Monday or Wednesday evening is gentler. Tuesday is reserved for ladies, families and couples, which means a different crowd but not necessarily a quieter one.
Leave early or late. The worst time to leave is the 15 minutes after the main stage shows. Either go before 10:30 pm or wait until the crowd has thinned after midnight.
Allow for the drive back. After midnight the roads are clear, and a trip home takes the lower end of the range. At 10:30 pm on a weekend it does not.
Pick-up and drop-off for taxis and cars
The park's page lists Careem, Uber and RTA Taxi as ways to arrive, but it does not specify drop-off locations or what happens at the exit, and we are not going to invent them. Our general advice for any large fairground, which applies here:
- Agree a pick-up gate. Choose one of the gates by name, for example the Gate of the World, and tell the driver.
- Walk to the edge of the crowd. A pick-up on the road outside the main flow is easier than one in front of the gate.
- Have a fallback. If the first gate is blocked, what is the second?
- Keep the phone charged. The app is your ticket and your car.
If you are visiting as a family or a group of six or more, a driver who waits is easier than a ride-hail. Our Dubai car with driver page explains how hourly bookings work, and the Dubai hotel transfers page covers the hotel run. For the airport side, see Dubai International Airport.
A realistic evening, step by step
This is a plan for two adults and two children staying in Dubai Marina on a Wednesday.
- 3:15 pm: leave the hotel. The road is clear and the heat is falling.
- 4:15 pm: arrive, park in a free lot near the gate and walk in.
- 4:30 to 6:30 pm: the pavilions and the rides while it is quiet.
- 6:30 to 8 pm: dinner at the food stalls.
- 8 to 9:30 pm: the main stage and a final walk.
- 9:45 pm: leave. The car park is still moving, and you are home by about 11 pm.
On a Friday, the same plan shifts: arrive at 4 pm, expect to sit in the queue at the lot, and leave either before 10 or after midnight.
Combining Global Village with other plans
Many visitors pair Global Village with other things on the same day. Some practical notes:
- Do not book a morning flight the day after a late night. Global Village closes at midnight or 1 am, and Dubai International is a long way from the park. If you are collecting arrivals, our Dubai airport terminals guide tells you which terminal to meet them at.
- Allow time for hotel check-out. If you are leaving Dubai the next day, pack before you go.
- If you are visiting from Abu Dhabi, the road is about 140 km each way. See our Dubai to Abu Dhabi bus vs private car guide for how that journey works, and our Middle East hub for other routes.
Common mistakes
- Arriving on Friday at 8 pm. The lots are full and the overflow is a kilometre away.
- Relying on the bus to get home. The last bus is early.
- Forgetting that Tuesday is a special day. It is reserved for ladies, families and couples.
- Booking a ride-hail at the gate. Pick-up is crowded, and prices rise.
- Not checking the closing date. It can change.
Frequently asked questions
When does Global Village Dubai open in 2026?
Season 31 opens on 14 October 2026 and runs until May 2027. The official site gives these dates, and the closing date has been extended in past seasons, so check before you plan a May visit.
What are the opening hours of Global Village?
On the park's Season 31 page, the hours are 4 pm to midnight Sunday to Wednesday, and 4 pm to 1 am Thursday to Saturday and on public holidays. Tuesdays are reserved for families, couples and ladies, except on public holidays.
How much are tickets for Global Village?
The park's own Season 31 pages did not list standard entry prices when we checked and said tickets would be available later in the year. Check the ticket page on the official Global Village site for the current prices.
How do I get to Global Village by metro?
Take the metro to CentrePoint, Union or Mall of Emirates and then the 102, 103 or 106 bus, or use the 104 from Ghubaiba Bus Station. The buses usually run about 3:15 pm to 11:15 pm and take around 30 minutes.
Is parking free at Global Village?
Some lots are. P1, P3 and P5 are free, about 400 to 450 metres from the Gate of the World. P7 to P11 are free only on weekends, public holidays and busy days, about 1 km from the Cultural Gate. Paid lots cost AED 75 to 120 a day.
What is the best day to go?
Sunday, Monday and Wednesday are quieter than the weekend. Friday and Saturday evenings are the busiest, with the longest queues for parking and for the exit. Tuesday has a different, family-focused crowd.
Can I get a taxi home late at night?
Careem, Uber and RTA Taxi are listed as ways to reach the park, and you can book them at the exit, but demand is high just after the main shows. Leave before the crowd, or after it has thinned, or arrange a driver in advance.
How much is a private car to Global Village?
Tell the booker where you start and the fare for that route, fixed and all in, appears before you pay. If you are bringing small children, ask for a seat at booking.
