What is airport meet and greet with Onroutz.ca?

Airport meet and greet means your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board, instead of in a car park or at a kerb. The driver tracks your flight, greets you by name, helps with your bags and escorts you to the vehicle. It is added to an airport transfer on request.

Arrivals halls are noisy places. In a new country, in a language you do not speak, after a long flight, finding a stranger by a car-park number is the part of the trip most travellers dislike. Meet and greet removes that step. You walk through the doors and your name is already waiting.

It is not a separate product. It is a feature of the airport transfer: the same flight tracking, the same fixed fare quoted before you pay, the same licensed and commercially insured vehicle. You tick the option at booking.

How a meet and greet works

  1. You book the transfer and add a name-board meet and greet. Give the flight number, the number of travellers and the hotel.
  2. The desk assigns a driver and tracks the flight. Delays are watched in real time, so the driver is positioned for the actual landing.
  3. The driver waits inside arrivals with a board showing your name. For privacy the board can show an alias instead.
  4. You are met after the formalities. Immigration and baggage claim happen first, as they do for every traveller.
  5. The driver takes your bags and walks you to the car. Luggage goes in the boot, and the drive begins.

In Toronto, the GTA and southern Ontario the car and chauffeur come from the Onroutz.ca fleet. At airports elsewhere, a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local partner drives, and the Toronto desk books, confirms and invoices the trip. Either way, you receive one confirmation and one invoice.

Where meet and greet is available

Meet and greet is available on request at the airports covered by this site. Two destinations have pages of their own because demand and rules differ:

Other airports with meet and greet on request include Toronto Pearson, London Heathrow, Paris CDG, Doha Hamad, Riyadh King Khalid, Delhi and Singapore Changi. The full list is on the airport transfers hub. The service page for airport meet and greet shows how the option sits within a booking.

Meet and greet versus an airport-run assistance service

Some airports run their own meet-and-assist services, which can include help through border control. Dubai Airports, for example, lists a VIP service called Al Majlis on its official website. Those services are separate products booked with the airport or the airline.

You can use both. Many VIP and corporate arrivals pair an airport assistance service with a name-board chauffeur at the exit. Check what the airport offers, and book that part directly with them.

Privacy and alias names

Not every traveller wants a name on a board. For executives, performers and families, the board can carry an alias, and the driver knows the real name. Chauffeurs never photograph clients or post about trips, and will sign an NDA on request.

For arrivals where privacy matters more than convenience, see the celebrity and talent transport page and the VIP transportation page. Onroutz.ca is a transport service, not a security company. It does not provide armed drivers or bodyguards, and works alongside a client's own security team.

When meet and greet is worth adding

  • First visit to a country. You do not know the terminal, the exits or the local signs.
  • Late-night or early-morning arrivals. Fewer staff, fewer signs, fewer taxis.
  • Families. A driver who helps with bags and car seats saves the parent a trolley.
  • Older travellers or anyone with limited mobility. An escort to the car removes the long walk to a car park.
  • Language barriers. A named driver you can recognise is easier than a stranger approaching you.
  • Business arrivals. The first impression for a client starts at the arrivals hall.

When it is not needed: a short domestic arrival at an airport you know well, where the driver can wait at a clearly marked kerb. In that case a standard transfer with a text message is enough.

Waiting time and flight tracking

Flights change. The desk tracks yours on every airport pickup. After an international landing you have 60 minutes of free waiting, and after a domestic landing 30 minutes. For other pickups, the free wait is 15 minutes. If you are held at immigration or your bag is delayed, tell the desk and the driver adjusts.

Plan for the real world. Immigration queues can be long at peak times, and entry rules apply to every passenger. Before you fly, check the requirement for your passport. Canada asks visa-exempt air travellers to hold an eTA (canada.ca). The United Kingdom asks each traveller, including children, to hold an ETA or a visa, unless they are British or Irish (gov.uk).

Luggage, vehicles and child seats

Choose the vehicle by party size and bags. An Executive Sedan or First Class Sedan carries up to three passengers, a Luxury SUV up to six with five or six large bags, and an Executive Sprinter up to twelve passengers with twelve bags. See the fleet page. Models are "or similar", and confirmed at booking.

Infant, toddler and booster seats are supplied when you ask for them at booking. Water and phone charging are available in most vehicles. If your party is larger, a mini-coach or coach of 20 to 56 seats can be arranged on request.

Meet and greet links to the rest of the site. For hotel arrivals, see the hotel transfers hub. For business groups, read the guide to corporate meetings, hotels and resorts. For private-aircraft arrivals, the private aviation hub explains FBO pickups. For the Gulf, start at the Middle East hub.

Frequently asked questions

What is meet and greet at the airport?

It is a service where your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board, greets you by name, helps with your bags and walks you to the car. It is added to an airport transfer at booking and does not replace immigration or customs.

Is meet and greet the same as fast-track?

No. A name-board meet and greet starts after you have cleared immigration and collected your bags. Fast-track and border-control assistance are services run by the airport or the airline. You can book both, using the airport for the formalities and Onroutz.ca for the car.

How will I recognise my driver?

The driver stands inside arrivals with a board showing your name or an alias you choose. Before the pickup the desk sends the details, and you can contact the 24/7 desk if you cannot see the board. The board stays up until you arrive.

Can my name stay off the board?

Yes. Ask for an alias name at booking, and the board will show it instead. The driver will know your real name. Photos of clients and posts about trips are off limits for chauffeurs; NDAs are available on request.

How long will the driver wait?

For international arrivals the first 60 minutes after landing are free. For domestic arrivals the first 30 minutes are free. For other pickups the free wait is 15 minutes. Flight tracking shows delays, so the driver is positioned for your actual landing.

How much does meet and greet cost?

The booker shows the fixed all-in fare for your pickup, drop-off, vehicle and options before you pay. We do not publish a separate meet-and-greet rate, because the answer depends on the airport and the trip.

Do you offer meet and greet at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports?

Yes. Both airports have a dedicated page: Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A local partner drives, and the Toronto desk confirms the booking. Check your terminal on the confirmation before you fly.

Can I add a child seat?

Yes. Infant carriers, toddler seats and boosters are available; request them when you book. Tell the desk the age and weight of each child. The seat is fitted before the driver goes to arrivals.
